I am excited to announce that I have passed my Cyber Essentials accreditation! This is a great step towards GDPR compliance, focusing on the IT security side.
As I help my clients with their GDPR compliance from a process and Marketing perspective, this certification shows I am practising what I preach and am serious about my own customer’s personal details.
Having gone through the accreditation myself, this better enables me to help my clients prepare for it too.
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed and industry-supported scheme to help businesses protect themselves against cyber threats.
Opportunities for criminals and hackers to commit fraud, industrial espionage or theft of intellectual property is more prevalent due to our reliance on internet-based technology. Cyber Essentials defines a set of 5 key security controls which can help to protect businesses from attacks..
Why is it important?
- By implementing the Cyber Essentials 5 controls in your business, you can prevent many attacks.
- You can identify areas for improvement in cyber security and best practice, by going through the assessment.
- Your business can display the Cyber Essentials badge and demonstrate that it takes cyber security seriously.
Protos Networks have been superb in taking me through this assessment and I highly recommend working with them!
